Not only will you find food in this place, there are also books and, yes, board games for those who want to pass the time playing old school analogue games of their childhood.
The books found at Book and Borders Cafe are not the usual run-of-the-mill second hand reading materials. Their books are some of the latest and newest titles from self-help to non-fiction to bestsellers. Each book has a call card at the back where you will sign with your details and your contact number and give the card to the attendant before bringing it to you nook and enjoying it with piping-hot coffee and some truly delectable meals and desserts.
No you cannot bring the books home, despite the call card. Many of these books are new and can be quite expensive to replace. However, you may treat it as your library and read for as long as you like. Warning: you might find yourself coming back more often than you anticipated. There are food items sold in their T. Morato branch that you may not find in their branch at the Fort.
It’s been a while since the reading coffee shop began to flourish in the city. With the popularity and availability of the Internet, books have begun to lose their appeal with the digital natives. However, books have never been more popular and if the digital version has grown in demand, so will there be place for books of all covers, hard and soft.
If you have time to spare, do visit Book and Borders Cafe located at the Tuscany inside McKinley Hill at the Fort.
