A dual rear camera setup for the Starmobile Knight Spectra
The new Starmobile Knight Spectra is the latest in the “Knight” line of smartphones specially made for the busy and connected young professional who, most of the time, are into mobile phone photography. I personally would like to congratulate Starmobile for this revolutionary device that is definitely the first of its kind and also the first to bring this technology to the market.
A small roundtable discussion with Starmobile CEO Ulysses Tan and their new COO Jerry Maňus, a former executive of Apple Inc in the US, was held after the launch to introduce Mr Maňus to the press. Having a seasoned executive on the Starmobile team is a clear indication that Starmobile has indeed gone into the major league of gadget manufacturing. A factory is soon to rise in Southern Luzon and I believe that Starmobile is going to level the playing field for those who are looking to buy high-speced smartphones at practically feature phone prices. Mr Manus has reiterated his commitment to introduce best practices to Starmobile. Indeed, Starmobile was built in 2011 where they started to sell low-priced feature phones until they began selling smartphones at less than half the price of most smartphones made by the Koreans and the Americans.
The launch of the Starmobile Knight Spectra is an indication that indeed, the Spectra has arrived. It has the following features:
- LTE. The Starmobile Knight Spectre has LTE capability which allows the high-speed internet where LTE service is available.
- 5.5 inch full HD AMOLED screen
- Built-in digital TV tuner
- 64-bit Octacore with 3 GB RAM
- Dual Rear Cam
The dual rear camera is a revolutionary way of taking pictures. One camera has 2MP while the other has 13 MP. The Spectra is the only mobile phone in the market that has 2 rear cameras and with DSLR capabilities.
Many are excited, including me, to get to see the new Knight Spectra up close. It will available in the market by in 2 weeks time from now. Watch out for it in your favorite electronics stores and Starmobile kiosks nationwide.
